A UK lighting manufacturer is rapidly forging a reputation as the go-to company for illuminating data centres.

Durham-based Artech Lighting has delivered lighting systems and products to a host of high-profile projects across Europe for some of the world’s largest online organisations.

Having successfully completed projects for vast data centres in Slough and Welwyn Garden City, Artech was recruited to supply products to even larger projects in Frankfurt, Germany, and Paris, France.

The firm has developed a range of specific products for data centres which provide significant benefits to both the installation teams and the end user.

Innovative design has eliminated the need for external trunking systems by incorporating dedicated cable ways into the fixtures themselves. Added to this built in PIRs / Microwave sensors and optimum output (180lm/w delivered) at lower energy consumption the argument is compelling.

“Data centres are becoming such an important market for us,” said Director, Stuart Hylton. “Plans for new data centres are being announced on a weekly basis and as the world has learned to think more “online” during the pandemic, that is only set to increase.

“The project specifications and requirements are incredibly detailed and I am proud that our  Engineers have been able to design, develop, test and manufacture our new fittings at our headquarters in Durham.

“As the UK readies itself to bounce back after the economic trauma of 2020, it is vital that our companies are ready to take advantage of the opportunities that come their way…and more importantly, that our first thought is to “buy British” and get our economy back on track.”

The project wins are the latest in a string of success stories for Artech Lighting, having previously delivered lighting solutions for a number of high-profile projects both in the UK and overseas.

Stuart added: “We’ve delivered lighting and fixtures for hundreds of projects across the globe, from bespoke solutions to off-the-shelf products, and the demand for our products is showing no sign of slowing down.

“As a true UK manufacturer, everything we produce is designed, developed and assembled at our plant in Durham and this has played a huge role in our success, especially in terms of increasing our export activity.

“British manufacturing is revered worldwide for its skilled workforce, commitment to innovation and excellent quality and we’re proud that each of our products are stamped with the ‘Made in Britain’ marque.”
